Why it exists
Baggget was born from a personal need: I wanted a simple way to keep track of income and expenses, and the apps I tried were confusing, crowded with features I didn’t need and constantly interrupted by ads. So I built what I was looking for: a clean budget diary that puts the numbers first and doesn’t distract the person using it.
How it works
Every income and expense is logged in a few taps, picking the category from a grid of colored pills and using a dedicated numeric keypad. The home screen shows your balance with phrases that change with the moment. You can set daily, weekly and monthly limits and get automatic notifications, while the reports show trends by week, month, six months and year, with the limits marked on the charts. Data can be exported to CSV or PDF, imported from CSV and saved with a backup. There is also a widget, the look adapts to light and dark mode, and the app runs on iPhone and iPad.
The full set of features is unlocked with Baggget Pro; if you like, you can also support development with a donation.
What I learned
Releasing Baggget taught me how to work with the App Store: preparing the listing, answering the reviewers’ requests and adapting the app to everything Apple requires, and beyond. I came to see that publishing is as much a part of the product as the code, and that respecting a platform’s rules is part of doing the job well.
